Once upon a time many years ago in San Diego, when Delilah was just starting out on the road of her belly dance career, she danced her first performance in a contest. Scheherazade was the most popular teacher in all the land and she put on a gala event for all the students and dancers who were newly evolving to participate in. She put it on at the Sheridan Hotel in San Diego California. She hosted and performed for her adoring fans in a show with a live band called Harim Caravan; Richard Barham , Tony Karesak and David Dhillon. Hollywood belly dance celebrities where among the judges such as Ellana the Persian Kitten. It was on a big fancy runway stage with spot lights. Dancers and lovers of belly dance came from far and wide and was a monumental moment in the herstory of belly dance. In the contest Delilah (18 years old) and Carla, Scheheraades daughter (12 years old) tied for 2nd place.Jamila of San Diego won the first prize.

Many years have passed and all these women are still dancing and more!

On October 15th 2003 in the Ft Lauderdale / Miami area they will be rejoined in a performance together at the Holiday Inn, (conisidently on Sheridan Drive).Delilah's daughter Laura Rose will also perform. But this time the women are not competing they are celebrating generations of women sharing belly dance! Even Carla's daughter is dancing these days (but the show is past her bed time).

This is a show dear to each of the performers heart!

There will be open dance floor for all of us to dance to the beatiful and soulfull music of Sirocco!
