Dancers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity! This is a MULTI-LEVEL class. It will be structured according to the needs of the participants. Armando will focus on technique and ensemble playing using traditional Middle Eastern rhythmic modes, the possibilities of rhythm as a focal point in music and how these rhythms can be applied to other forms of music. Come Belly Dance with Delilah and Sirocco!Come let the music move you! Let your back bone slip, slide and glide. Delilah will lead you through an internal warm up and then on a ride through seven explorations of the good old fashioned belly dance. This is a real treat to have amazing live music and be taught by a highly inspirational teacher like Delilah. This is what happens daily at a Visionary Belly Dance Retreat on Maui every year, but on Staurday it happens in Ithaca.
Location : Community School for Music and Arts MUSIC CLASS NOTES: Bring what drums you have; riq, def doumbek, tambourine. Of course the Mid East Drum of choice is a DOUMBEK.
