Caravan Sto Details The East Coast Tour Itinerary:
October 25, 26, Show Details: Delilah and Sirocco have been dancing for years across America's night club circuit performing the lost art of the 7 part cabaret routine. These routines would start out with the dancer dressed and draped in a diaphanos veil. She would enter the stage and begin with #1 a dance of greeting. She meets and addresses her audience and invites them to join her on her dance journey. #2 the unveiling into a mystical and magical veil dance. The process mysterious and then the veil expands into wings . The closest any one comes to truly flying! #3 a dance showing off more techniques because her body was more warned up and extended, more available, (more seen since the absence of the veil) and the endorphins were changing her levels of consciousness. The audiance falls more into a hypnotic spell! Speed, agility, adrenalin pumping, the dancer becomes more adept. She surprises even her self #4 A decent to the floor. A place people have been praying for centuries. The feminine consciousness rises from in and of the earth. Breathless, the audience is drawn along internal landscapes.#5 She ascends up off the floor to loftier realms and the energy is again quickened.#6 The drum gets hot, it begs attention and the dancer and drummer unite. They play, they dance, they tease each other, they get wet . Nothing is set. It is all improvised and in the present moment. They will spend them selves and then take a bow #7 The promise to return. The dancer thanks her musicians and her audience and does it all again the next night or the next set. Like the sun, the moon the satillites we revolve, we repeat, come close together and spin away. The 7 part routine was intuitive and very successful before home video hit the wide spread market in the 1980's. Things have changes greatly and the demands of the cabaret dancer have been in competition with sound bites, computers, and the nano seconds. The 7 part cabarette dance is becoming a lost art because it was dependent on natural chemistry; heart beat, blood flow, adrenalin, breath, and emotional spontineity (things that will not change to it fit well into media sound bite), verses memorization or paint by number choreographys brought to us by ballet technology. Both have thier merit , but the spontaneous dance that was often 45-55 minutes long was once seen as par for the course, has little access in todays modern world. However it is and shall always be a human ritual of transformation for dancer and audiance. To night you will see it. . . live and wild. Deliah and Sirocc with be joined by Laura Rose and other guest dancers.
