She dons a poodle skirt and takes us to her
teenage years of swing and an interlude
with the Hula.Then comes a break in all
the classroom dancing to do the Mother-
hood Medley: Lois dances/mimes
pregnancy, birth, and again pregnancy,
birth, and child rearing as her unseen
children clearly and quickly grow to the
year of their departure, when she returns
to her dance pursuits once again! Tap, soft
shoe, folkdance, more clogging, aerobic
dance class and the Macarena.

as a teacher and school principal, as a
great-grandmother, Lois comes to what
she refers to as the wisest dance of all, the
bellydance. Her attendants dress her in
her beledi dress and hip sash, and she
dances while playing her drum to the
beledi rhythm of life! The trio dances off.

has been doing amazing, lickity-split, on-
stage costume changes to accompany each
dance transition, with the help of her two
dance assistants, as the music careens
wildly and quickly from one genre to the
next. Finally, in the later part of her life,
after marriage and children, after a career

We'll be back in Maui for a Special Summer
Retreat, July 7-16. The theme is
Mermaids and Mentors. This is great time
for dancers plugged into the school
system who can't normally get away to
join us in January. Celebrate the connections
with those great mentors in our lives,
