My Daddy
When it comes down to it, I have the best dad in the world. He’s witty, loving, and always knows just what to say. Even though he lives a very busy life he always makes time to ask me how my day was, and tries to make sure we all sit down to dinner as a family. Sometimes I think he thinks the things he does for us goes unnoticed, but it doesn’t. Being so wise he helps all of us with everything from computer problems to dealing with conflicts. He always has an insightful word, and though sometimes I have to learn a lesson for my self, he can always tell me what the right thing to do is.
Who could forget that sense of humor? I remember one night the family was sitting around the dinner table, joking and laughing, when dad turned to me and said,
“Hey Vic, stand up for a sec...”
Once I was up, patiently waiting to see why he made such a strange request, he finished,
“...while you’re up, can you get me a glass of water?”
I laughed all the way to the sink. He sure got me good. He can be serious when solving a problem, but he sure can have a good time. On our last family vacation we almost got kicked out of a public pool for the horse play he inspired.
I really truly cherish the time I spend with my dad; whether it’s walking around Green lake, or simply laying on the couch watching South Park. My dad is supportive, motivational, and patient. He’s understanding, forgiving and reasonable, as well as playful, spirited and a goof ball! What more could you ask for? You have it all with Steven G. Flynn!
