Honorable Mayor of Taskent Humdula Gulyamov:
Dear friend and citizens of Seattle,
Today is a very special day for the Seattleites and Taskenters. The space bridge has linked our cities which are separated by great distances, but very close spiritually. Taskent and Seattle are linked with ties of friendship. In the past years we have had many meetings that have helped us know each other better. We have aquired many friends. In the past meetings were limited by communication of our citizens. Now they have gained a new quality
Tomorrow the conference of the first USSR and Sister City Relations will open here in Taskent. It is the first one in the history of the sister city relationships. Representatives of nearly 100 Soviet and American Cities will take part in it. . .
This confenece is a manifestation of a new political thinking in international relationships and the goodwill of our nations and our leaders.
These days hold hope and aspirations of our nations, other efforts toward world peace, friendship, mutual understanding and respect. With the the warmth of our hearts we will help to realize these aims.
We have here, our American friends and the best rock and roll band from Seattle; Jr Cadillac and the rock and roll station KXRX

Good evening Seattle and good morning Taskent. I would like to thank the mayor and all our good friends for inviting us back to their city. And for all of you in Seattle, I want all of you to know how proud I am, and how proud you ought to be that our city has led the way for the people in the Soviet Union and the people of the United States in joining together in one of the most exciting moments of people-to-people relationships.
Everyone in our country is so excited about what is going on in the Soviet Union. To be here and see it first hand is very exciting indeed. To witness one of the finest moments in history of people to people efforts.
And now we are going to do some rock and roll with Jr Cadillac. I know you will enjoy them here in Taskent and I know for our friends in Seattle will be very exciting to hear their friends in this great group coming all this way around the world to play and have a show in Taskent
Are you ready to rock and roll in Taskent?
