2006 Solstice Parade Classes
THEME: Billion Belly March: Show our Presence to the World
2007 Theme:
Ancient Egypt: Ancient Feminine Wisdom
You do not have to be in the parade to take Delilah's Parade Class, learn more about belly dance and get a work out... but of course we hope and encourage everyone to take part
You do not have to be in her class to participate in the parade with the Visionary Dancers. We need many volunteers to be flower girls, water bearers and banner carriers. You will have to wear some sort of costume in the theme colors to be in our group.
For over 10 years now, Delilah and her Visionary Belly Dancers create an ensemble for the World Famous Fremont Solstice Parade. It’s a lot of fun and and hours of creative and expressive hard work. Outside of the class time there is costuming, props and banner making. Choreography has to be created with in some unusual parameters. There are only a certain array of belly dance moves that can keep the parade moving past the audience and stay dynamic. Plus, there’s the fact we are dancing on asphalt. Delilah has become skilled at concocting fun, beautiful and changing parade choreography.
2006 theme was: Show our Presence to the World
Who are we? We are the beautiful and powerful women that love this dance form because it liberates our body, our souls, and strengthens our self esteem! We are all ages shapes and sizes. We come from all different backgrounds and we share the wisdom and knowledge that belly dance is an empowering part of our lives. Now with Delilah’s new VDP Studio in located right in the Center of the Universe, it is fitting we make our presence known, felt and experienced.
2007 theme is Ancient Egypt; Ancient Feminine Wisdom
We achieved so much in 2006 that we want to continue the growth and epic presence with pride and grandeur. The symbol of the pyramid is a container, made of stone it is a testament to strength and invincibility. It holds many mysteries as do all sorts of ancient Egyptian symbols. Its’ power Isis and the feminine triangle. A delta for fertility and life.
