May is Parade Season check out the 2009 Video!

Monday April 27th
A handful of us went to demonstrate in support of Single Payer Health Care Reform. We had a permit and picked Patty Murray's office to send a signal and because the federal building is a good location. The police were very nice and checked our permit. The sun came out. Andy and Erik drummed through for us through the lunch hour.
Carolyn Sterling, Dina, Xinna, Laura Rose, Dahlia Moon, Dakini, Karen Jones, Kalaura, and Delilah. We got some good press and it was just 3 days after it was announced that 40,000 folks are going to get kicked off Wa. Basic Health.

In addition to on going classes and descriptions are linked and listed on our calendar here are some tips.

This month Don’t miss our parade classes. We want as many dancers as possible to wow the city! Classes will not be overly complicated this year. We are going on simplicity and perfection. Ha ha! Water is our theme Flow around all obstacles! Turquoise is the costume color! parade is June 20th

Out of town:
May 8th HOT and Delilah are in Los Angeles for a concert at Iqaat Studio. HOT is doing a benefit to aid children maimed in the Iraq war and Delilah is doing a series of workshops.

In our studio:
May 9th Dahlia has some specialty Saturday workshops at VDP Studios! Etiquette of Belly Dance and Hot Hips. Check out calendar.

Sun May 31st is the 5th studio concert of “Pillow full of drone” featuring the music by Noise Poet Nobody and sometimes Butoh Dance.

Class Tuition
We know it’s hard times and many folks are feeling the crunch. We want to keep you dancing. We believe it’s the best antidote for the blues. We have ways for students to barter if you have something to offer; write an article within our guidelines that gets published, web design or upkeep, painting, flyers for classes, house work, massage, yard work. We’ll try to find something to keep you dancing if money is stopping you.
