Power Belly is more than belly dancing with weight belts, though that is one of it's obvious involvements. There is also a philosophy and a unique energetic that we will explore.
The Power Belly philosophy is about empowering women!
Strength.
By building strong bones and muscles, we stand strong against the wind. We can walk and dance with confidence, and without fear.
Autonomy.
Coming from strength gives us self reliance rather than external dependency. it allows us our own creative license to live an authentic life.
Wisdom.
We become more knowledgeable about ourselves. From this deep core place comes wisdom to know and love beauty, and honor life.
Power.
In learning how to control every part of the gift that is our bodies, we are finally able to move freely, and employ greater self-expression in all that we do. We gain self-confidence, lose fears, and are able to enjoy life more fully. To live creatively and to think for ourselves allows us the freedom to make valuable contributions to a society that could not otherwise be made. Only then can we start to make a difference and begin to change the world around us. Belly dance is the dance of life!
Delilah's weekly Power Belly Classes have become a phenomena in themselves. They are by far the most popular classes the studio offers for many reasons.
1.) It doesn't fell like work! It's a passionate experience that leaves the dancers feeling strong and alive.
2.) The results in our bodies are astounding.
3.) We can learn to belly dance faster and it's so much fun!
Women all over the world are catching on to Delilah's lead of utilizing the weight belts to quicken the learning curve, build strength, dance endurance, and tone and shape the body. here is the opportunity to study with Delilah and learn first hand.
In this workshop you will be guided in its proper usage and the array of techniques Delilah uses so you can personally enjoy more challenging workouts, and/or learn more to bring into your local dance classrooms.
In the three hour workshop we start at the beginning and introduce all the dynamic concepts behind Delilah's Power Belly weekly classes.
Foundation, philosophy, and workout, with live music and techniques.
On sunday we will do a regular 60 minute Power Belly workout.

For dancers of all levels: beginners, advanced, professionals, and teachers... anyone who wants to understand the full complement of strategic use of Delilah's Power Belly weight belts for belly dancing in one fell swoop!
TIME: 10:00am–12:30pm
DATE: September 24 and again on Nov 12
COST: $38 (each workshop)
Power Belly Workout
A perfect follow up to the workshop so you can experience it as a daily practice.
TIME: 11:30am–12:30pm
DATE: September 25 and again on Nov 13
COST: $15, $20 at the door (each workshop)
NOTE: If you do not have or do not plan to buy a weight belt, you may still participate in this workshop by using an isometrics technique that will be taught in this class.
Purchase a Weight Belt, or rent one for $5 per class.
One rental fee can go toward purchase.
