This is one of the sweetest Christmas albums of all time. For these instrumentals, a wonderful cast of supporting musicians join the Brothers to create a rich and magical sound. You’ll find most of your favorite carols set to earthy Middle Eastern drum rhythms, the melodies played by brother Ishmael’s kanoon, Steve Skaggs on oud, Steven Flynn on ney and Michael Kersey on bass. There is a rousing rendition of “Joy to the World” on zornas that is my favorite. “Coventry Carol” on oud and an ethereal “Silent Night” on the haunting ney are two other stand-outs. This is a CD the entire family will enjoy!
